This is a common scene in many areas of the city where the lesser known, lesser important mortals (aka TAXPAYERS) live. Taken on a holiday (holy day - Pongal, Saturday, January 15, 2011 by 7 am) this picture very clearly explains the apathy shown to people. This was taken on a very important road in Mylapore - Mundaka Kanni Amman Koil Street. Please note the trash can in the picture that stands without any measurable junk in it! Most faithful, true health-conscious, law-abiding citizens have preferred to throw the junk just outside. It is not out of place to mention about the traffic bottleneck that is created by people who select this place to drink alcohol (a government-run shop is located in the opposite row!).
I silently pray that my family moves out of this place at the earliest. I have no other option, for, not many people seem to be interested in 'cleaning up' this zone, which was once known as a very important place in this part of the city. The school (PS North) located just adjacent to this location has produced many 'big officers'.
Who cares?
WHO REALLY CARES ABOUT THIS atroCITY?
